I’m a Uganda-based freelance photographer (and occasional writer) working for a broad range of clients including NGOs, newspapers and magazines and development agencies. My work has taken me across East Africa, South America and Europe, and previous clients include USAID, the World Bank and the East African.     I was at the Jinja show and judging from these pics you’ve posted of other shows, it was the most poorly organised. Oh, I should be more specific; it had the worst venue. I usually rise up in arms when people from other districts talk funny about our colonial architecture but, still, the Jinja town hall gave the exhibition an insipid and lifeless feel.

      I’m sorry to hear you were disappointed, I was the person who chose the venue (it was either that or the St Judes hall) and I hoped some of the majesty of the place would rub off, but it seems it didn’t. Is that hall still used for dances? Or, in fact, anything?
