Part Of The Reason I’ve Been So Quiet

I accidentally bought a VW camper and have been a little busy sorting it out. It was almost scrapped, rotting in a garage in West Nile and being used as a shed, but now it’s beginning to show signs of its former glory!

Here it is:

...during the initial clean-out

... and on the road!!!

So it needs some work, the floor is a little rotten, the engine is in Kampala and the mechanic is in Congo, but we’re getting there slowly. And it’s such a lovely car….

*I passed my Ugandan driving test last Friday by the way, so I’m even legal!

I can see it painted with rainbows and flowers, hippy style. Good luck with it.

I’m leaving the original paint for now, then doing a re-spray when I can afford- the priority is much more to have working brakes! But I’m thinking a nice split- maroon or sky-blue bottom half, white top?
