The Baby Helmet (c)

This is my favourite thing in Uganda. Half a calabash on a string, placed over the baby's head to protect it from sun and rain. Seen predominantly (as far as I remember) in the North.

    Have you seen the larger calabashes used in some villages as umbrellas?
